The AIT (Adaptive Icing Tunnel) is an Ice tunnel machine that is going to be built in August 2023 at the NASA Glenn Research Center. The GVIS lab wanted to show a visualization of the lab that the AIT will be in even before the AIT is physically in the center. This model scene was made in May 2023.
I did everything that you see above. The software that was used to model this scene was Maya and 3D Substance Painter. The purpose of this project is to create a 3D visualization of the AIT machine in one of NASA's facilities in the Glenn Research Center. After taking a tour and taking photos of the facility, the modeled scene was modeled and textured based on the photos that were taken. The AIT model was already modeled from a software called CAD (Computer Aided Design).
The video above is the NASA's AIT facility in VR. The 3D models were put in Unity and the onto the Oculus VR headset. I set up all the VR applications that is demonstrated in the video above.
